Meet our RST teachers and staff!

Kate Guerrero – Education Director

Kate has a passion for partnering with students and families to achieve academic and personal goals.  She had the opportunity to teach in a variety of settings – ranging from a private K-12 school to an alternative high school – before moving to supplemental education services.  She is skilled in identifying obstacles to learning and helps families build a plan with warmth and empathy. She is excited to be a part of RST’s growth!

Brittany Batell

Brittany is an English enthusiast! Previous experience includes tutoring at 826 Michigan in Ann Arbor. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in English Literature and Anthropology, and she returned to the U of M for a dual Masters in Social Work and Public Health in fall 2014. Brittany is an Ann Arbor area local – having grown up in Dexter – and a self-proclaimed Shakespeare nut.  She enjoys acting in her free time, along with running, dancing, and teaching health education.

Marissa Cloutier

Marissa is a graduate of Albion College, where she earned her B.A. in Biology. She is currently studying Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health. Marissa’s previous teaching experience includes three years as a writing consultant in the Albion College Writing Center, and she is excited to build on this experience while teaching math and science at RST. In her free time, Marissa enjoys playing tennis, running, and traveling.

Ila Sruti

Ila is pursuing a Masters in Public Health with a focus on International Health. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign in 2013 with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She then spent a year tutoring at a charter school in Boston,MA, where she discovered her love for teaching high school students. She loves spending her free time with friends and family, reading, and trying new kinds of food.

Ashley Jackson

Ashley is a Georgia native and a Wesleyan College alum with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics. She began her MA in Educational Studies in the Fall of 2014 at U of M. Her previous teaching experiences include the Rockdale Magnet School of Science and Technology (Conyers, GA) and The Weber School (Sandy Springs, GA), both in science and mathematics. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys trying new foods and reading graphic novels.
